Sports and Team Work

A sports team is composed of a group of talented athletes working together for one common goal of winning the game. For a group to be successful, they should have a shared interest and shared vision in their life. They should also have a uniform ambition. There are four words to take note when we speak of sports team.

Trust – Trust is the basic foundation of a relationship. It allows every part of the team to depend on each other without the benefit of the doubt. It is very essential for a team to depend on one another and believe in everyone’s capability to play with them and win the game. If trust is not present, most probably, the team is weak. Without trust, coordination will not be possible. There is no unity and everyone will want to play on their own. Trust grows as the team plays together in a span of time. Trust is not only for team players but also for team players and their coach. Trust maintains a harmonious relationship to sustain a sports team.

Enthusiasm – Enthusiasm makes the sports team stick together. It is not only for fun and game that people participate in sports event. It is also because they want recognition, especially if the sports is fun to play. Enthusiasm takes place when the sports activity is likable to a certain group. If the sports they are playing is their passion, that makes a sports team. It provides the team direction on where to go and goal on what to achieve. It maintains cohesiveness. If every member of the team is enthusiastic and focused on his or her goal, suddenly it will affect the team as a whole and everyone should have the same mentality enable to win.

Ambition – Ambition is the direction. If all members of the group are driven towards their goal, then they have an ambition. Ambition is the execution of their goals to become reality. Without it, there is no direction and everything will just be for fun. Ambition is very important especially to developing and new sports group. It provides a deep sense of orientation towards passion and commitment to the group.

Motivation – Motivation is the driving force to win. Motivation is subjective, and it varies from one person to another. Each member of the team should always have one because they cannot execute their ambition without motivation. Thus, in order to have motivation, team leaders and team coach develops strategies like challenging every member to achieve what they want to achieve through their group. Also, a challenging game keeps the team motivated.
